Dodgy shelves

Shep has declared himself a 'bookshelf voyeur.'

My bookshelves are not dodgy but the photo is. Blurry. Very blurry. I couldn't be doing with taking another and loading it up. It's at the end of the holiday photos. I don't have the patience to go through the whole thing again.

Looking at the picture - the third column, fourth row down. That particular shelf is the dodgy shelf.

It's the misplaced aqua blue binder, I think.

That's not a binder...it's a shoebox full of Ems' dirty dirty secrets...

OK liking the shelf. I can see A Short History Of Tractors In Ukrainian - we had a signing for that at the shop, as it was partially written in Totnes. Nice woman, she was just finishing up her second book too. I can see lots of Granta - always a sign of the well-read (although I'm slightly sceptical as to whether anyone actually reads them). Great Peter Ackroyd London Biog...but hang on! Barbara Kingsolver? And not just one either...Oh god and Harry Potter. I presume that vintage one is Patrick Hamilton...oh look there's the Michel Faber (sequel of sorts came out a couple of weeks ago), she wasn't lying about that...hmmm...

This is my idea of fun! How sad...

Can I see two bowls trophies?

Shudder.

You'll be disappointed to learn the shoebox contains nothing more interesting than Colin's payslips.

The trophies, Froosh, are for running. They're Colin's too. The dinner dance for the awarding of bowls trophies isn't until November. (Looking forward to that one!).

The Granta have mostly been read. I do have a colleague who just lines his up on the shelf. They do look nice.

You cannot be a teacher and know nothing about Harry Potter. I didn't bother with the last one though and these will be going to the charity shop on my next clearout.

Loads of books! my shelves are getting full of cd's at the moment though more books are creeping in, all mainly unread, I see a book I like, shelve it and there it stays!

Having been made to read ALL the Potter books to/with Eldest I can feel nothing but contempt and pain. The latest one had around 300 pages of recapping.

Now call me an old muggle if you like, but I think they're badly written and shit.

And if I see grown ups reading them for fun - oh boy. It makes me want to hit them about the head and shove Gregory David Roberts' Shantaram at them. "Read a proper book!".

Even kids are beginning to realise they're poor. Give them Garth Nix or Michelle Paver and watch their little faces light up as they see that this sort of literature can also be non-stereotypical...and fun too.

But what are the trophies for we all are wondering?

And are you letting Shep bully you :-)

A Harry Potter backlash?! I've only read two-thirds of the first one, but give it time.
shep has damn good eyesight.
One of the saddest things is going into a house/flat where there are no books. There should be a law against it.
