London Bridges

A modern day Margery Allingham. Allegedly. Enjoyable but too contrived to follow in the footsteps of the mistress of London crime fiction.

Is this the one where she talks about magic? I might have read a review in The Guardian.

The cover looks very tempting, I shall flick through it if I can get my hands on it at some point -

a.c.t - no magic but as the blurb on the back says: a murder, lost treasure buried in the vaults of a City bank, Greek monks, a sixth-century manuscript....

Rehan - get yourself down to Spitalfields on a Sunday. There's a great little book stall run by a guy who I'm guessing is Somali. The books are possibly remainders. I bought this and Sarah Water's Fingersmith new for a fiver the pair.

I love Margery Allingham.. how could you compare her to anyone? Sounds like something I would try, though!

Indeed the cover does look very tempting and Allingham is usually great. Hmm...maybe a Christmas read?
