Rehan - get yourself down to Spitalfields on a Sunday. There's a great little book stall run by a guy who I'm guessing is Somali. The books are possibly remainders. I bought this and Sarah Water's Fingersmith new for a fiver the pair.

The cover looks very tempting, I shall flick through it if I can get my hands on it at some point -

I love Margery Allingham.. how could you compare her to anyone? Sounds like something I would try, though!
Indeed the cover does look very tempting and Allingham is usually great. Hmm...maybe a Christmas read?
