I HATE TESCOS. Unfortunately it takes me 30 seconds to go to our local one which is next door so I'm in there far more often than is necessary. Why do they always have less tills open at the busiest time? Why are all their staff miserable fuckers? Smile, it really won't crack your face. If it's that's bad, go and get a job in Sainsbury's.
Pat, we must have left our comment at the same time, I didn't see what you said about Sainsbury's. Seriously, it cannot be as bad as Tescos. I mean ours has stopped selling crumpets. What's that all about?
Well yes, OK - Supermarkets are no good but I do like my local TESCOS although it is sadly no longer within walking distance. It is part of my Hortus Conclusus and has more variety and value for money than the other stores. However, 2 days ago bought some mackerel at the fish counter and the lady didn't know a thing about fish, couldn't even pack it properly and when I got home I read on the packet that TESCOS prides itself on its knowledgeable fishmongers who will degut the fish and advise you about it too - My Arse! I had 2 do it all myself, it was a disaster because in the end I burnt it and had to throw it all away, was trying out a Japanese recipe :-(
My sanity is tested every time I go to a supermarket here in Texas. A sack of potatoes can be found about half a mile from the front entrance of the store.
On the upside, I do get a good brisk walk when I grocery shop!

Pat, you only hate Sainsbury's more because it is your local supermarket. I don't think it matters which one it is - we all hate supermarkets.

Don't get me started about Sainsco. I still like Waitrose - in and out any time of the day without queues
I believe I have been to Tescos in Dundee.
