Help!

I renewed my firewall etc yesterday and am now unable to leave comments in pop-up windows because the visual verification bit is a red cross. I've tried looking at the settings but cannot work out what is wrong. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Don't install a firewall, I just use the windows one, besides me and Pat surmised its all psychology anyway, the way it shows hits on your pc when its legit programs that need access rights that are shown as hits etc....... I'n babbling here, ask cliff, He's the tech guru I'm imformed!

It's all very complicated. When I've had problems it has taken ages to get it sorted - being an IT dimbo. The broadband help line had to explain what the 'escape key' was...

Jay is, of course, absolutely right. I am King Of Tech, and could easily fill up this comment thread with technobabble.

Windows Firewall is largely shite. Fact. Zonealarm rules.

Mail me details (what's the program, what won't work, etc) if you haven't fixed it already.

All hail King of the Internets!

(if only I had this ill-deserved reputation in real life...*sigh*)

EMS,

It is probably that java or java script is disabled. Try enabling it. You can also try going to the softwares web site and looking at the FAQ

I seem to have fixed the problem - temporarily at least! Thanks for the advice.
